Not bad, but gets old quickly

It's OK, I like the sense of urgency.
I wasn't keen on the intro and I also felt it didn't really go anywhere.
I really liked the breakdown at 2-40. It seemed like the tune might get more interesting from there but it didn't really.
By the end of the tune I was bored to be honest.
Kinda reminded me of old Prodigy b-sides and stuff like "Wishdokta- Evil surrounds us". Maybe some decent samples would give it more personalilty...

Uncomfortable to listen too, in a good way

Well done. It's a really original and hard to categorise tune. Definitely one to file under miscellaneous.
You've done well to take some nice bits of music and combine them with some dischord to create something genuinely un-nerving.
As I said, it's not comfortable to listen to, especially more than once. I guess that's the idea, so well done.
If that wasn't your intention however, then it's rubbish!

its rubbish!

no just kidding, but what im wondering about is why everyone in the RRC is reviewing the ultimate roamer first and havent reviewed 'carry around fate' yet while i post these album tracks in a set order, when i checked the topic it showed initial like meant so i dont understand.

(yea this has nothing to do with your review but i did want to make a note ;l )

thanks for the review!

Quite good, well produced

It's a nice moody tune but I don't think there's enough going on to warrant it being so long.
I would use this in a game, but if it was supposed to be Hell, then I'd add some whispering ghosts or something just to make it spooky rather than just moody.
Some kind of fire burning loop would also work.
I do really like the wobbly bass sound- if it tied in to something visual it would be well effective.
It is really nicely produced though- everything is well balanced with no clipping or anything.

Except there is no fire or ghosts in this image of hell, but thanks!

Great tune, spot on for moodiness

Nice moody dubstep, I love it. Like the breakdown halfway in.
It's just a great rolling bass orgasm.
My only criticism (sorry) is that the samples are pretty average- for a tune called Anal Violator it's a bit tame.
I'd have put some screaming in there!
Maybe the hi-hats are a bit loud too.....
Sorry to be negative- Hope you appreciate that the criticisms are minor- check the score to see how much I liked it!
Oh, and I would definitely use it in a game!

Well composed but not brilliantly produced

There's a good slamming trance tune in there but it's hard to appreciate it with some of those sounds over the top. I think there's a fair bit of clipping going on. If you could clean up the samples or just use better ones it would sound loads better.
Personally I'd like a breakbeat too but then I guess it wouldn't be trance!
It's a good tune though and I did let it play a couple of times before I stopped it...

thanks for the review :-)
A great one at that too

Quite nice and useful for a game

First of all I like the drums, orchestral style with a bit of eastern flavour. I don't think the piece was composed to sound necessarily eastern or western (or even Northern!). I guess it was composed to create atmosphere and it does. Definitely the soundtrackto a journey I reckon, for some reason I'm thinking of climbing a mountain, slowly!
Well done, a useful piece for games, especially an RPG I reckon.

Yeah, I didn't want to go for any specific area of the world that has desert. It might even be the desert on another world ala Stargate-style right?

Thank for your time man!

wow, a very polished and moody piece

Very well done. Nice to hear something that is obviously so personal. Definitely appreciated the ups and downs but I can't say I heard any "mundane repetition!"
Good to hear something that sounds like it's being played on an instrument instead of programmed on a computer although it doesn't quite sound like a real piano.

Cimba responds:

Thank you for your review, and no, it's not a real piano.

Very atmospheric and useful

Very nice piece- close your eyes and you're totally taken onto the battlefield. It's fairly generic, but in a good way. What I mean by that is that it can be useful in plenty of games/movies to create the right mood. If I do an epic game I would definitely use it. Well produced, all the sounds are well balanced, the only criticism would be it kinda just ends without a crescendo, Well done.

BrokenDeck responds:

Thanks alot for the review man. Yeah I was thinking about a crescendo, but it wouldn't really fit for a menu background.

Thanks for the review man!
